Mount Coggill is an ideal place to act as a base for river or mountain walks (rivers Barrow and Nore, Mount Leinster, Brandon Hill and the Blackstairs Mountains ) exploring Counties Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Waterford and many other surrounding counties. The area has many festivals, music, arts and other cultural events such as the Festival of Writing and Ideas in Borris House, Co. Carlow. It is also within easy reach of craft centres, individual craft workshops, artists, historic sites, the Wexford coast line and both the Mount Juliet and Borris golf courses . Also course fishing, horse riding, horse racing and horse sales.
County Kilkenny is recognised for its craft and artistic population. Dublin is 1 ½ to 2hrs away (122 km) on a good motorway system.It is also one of those places where people may simply wish to remain and relax in lovely surroundings. It would also be a landscape artist’s paradise. It truly is lovely whatever the weather.

MOUNT COGGILL STUDIO APARTMENT
Mount Coggill Studio Apartment sleeps 4, has 2 shower rooms and is adjoining the main house overlooking a pond. It has its own entrance accessed from a reasonably sized car parking area. There is a small entrance hall which leads into the main living, dining, bedroom. One bedroom with double bed and shower room is upstairs. The second double bed is in the main living room. This large living room has a seating area with 3 sofas one of which can be made into a single bed. There is a wood burning stove, a T.V.with Irish and UK channels and wi-fi. There is a dining table which seats 6 overlooking a decking area and the pond and this can be accessed via 2 large glass sliding doors. And beyond the pond is the garden. There is a bar b q built into one of the dry stone walls which works efficiently. The decking area continues around the Studio Apartment for sitting, or for outdoor eating in the Summer. The double bed is slightly cordoned off with 2 open plan shelving units which divides the sleeping area from the rest of the room. (see photographs) The second shower room is downstairs near the kitchen.

MOUNT COGGILL HOUSE
Please note: The house is not suitable for young children under 8. The house, downstairs, has a large open plan living and dining area with kitchen and one double bedroom and one bedroom (with two single beds) which share a central bathroom with shower, bath and w.c. The main sitting area has a large wood burning stove and the other sitting area and the dining area look out onto the lawn, pond and the Castlecomer hills in the distance. Brandon Hill can be seen to the south east. The first floor comprises a small library area, a further sitting area and two good sized double bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes. There is a bathroom on this floor with w.c., wash basin and wet room with 2 showers.
